PVC
Dip moulding compounds offered by us are vinyl compounds that are present in
liquid form at room temperatures and get converted to solid forms at times
of coating/molding process. Here, after constant heating the PVC moulding
compound gets converted in form of a tough, homogeneous mass that has in it
properties of superior aging as well as corrosion, abrasion and electrical
resistance. These PVC moulding compounds can be effectively compounded into
almost any hardness as desired with options of clarity and color as demanded
by the customers. Further, the surface appearance of compounds can be in
choices like shiny, matte, foam with provision of getting it compounded to
meet different industry standards.
Dip Moulding Process :
The dip molding is thermal process where :
- Metal molds are preheated, dipped and post heated
- During dipping, heat in molds gels surrounding material
- For achieving thicker coating, the moulds should be hotter with the
dip being longer
- This is followed by curing process that fuses the compound
Here, one should note that temperatures and dipping profiles are two things
that are critical in determining amount of buildup on part.
Advantages :
The derived advantages of PVC dip process include :
- Parts made by dip molding are of more precision
- This process helps in following details of mold exactly with inside
part exact negative of mold
- The part has same surface texture as mold has
- Outer dimensions of parts more controllable
- Wall thickness can be maintained to close tolerances
- Different wall thicknesses can be achieved through precision control
brought in processes like dip speeds, dip time and withdraw speeds
- PVC Dip mouldings can also be used continuously in high temperature
working environment
- These have superior electrical & thermal insulation
- These are resistant to oils, acids, detergents
- These have self extinguishing properties
